Spoken English Classes- Lady Wellingdon

The students of MOP Vaishnav College for Women, have been working on a project to teach spoken English to students who are deprived of it. A group of students have been going to Lady Wellingdon Higher Secondary School, Triplicane, Chennai to teach a group of students of grade 12, the basics of spoken English. The initiative was taken up for a duration of about 80 hours spread over 4 months. In the era of globalization, the English language plays a key role. The basic aim of the project was to help girls get out of their shells and face the outer world with more confidence. It was to help them improve their communication skills and converse fluently in English. “If a teacher could create among the learners a drive to communicate, it will motivate them to learn”. This is exactly what the students did. They conducted a number of interactive and fun activities which would kindle the students’ inquisitiveness and lead to a better understanding of things. They are planning to broaden their vision by diversifying the program to more such schools where students are in the quest for knowledge and need to face the society at large in a better way.

Album launch- ANBU KARANGAL(26th Oct, 2008)

The students of Sairam Engineering college have come out with a noble effort to propagate and take a step ahead in promoting the cause of the orphaned and destitute children in our country. The team, named Radiance joined hands with Anbu karangal and Good Life Centre (orphanages) to roll out a music album to convey their message to our society.The audio launch was presided by-

The album's songs namely 'Vazhve Vazhve' , 'Un Sparisam' and 'Ulagam' depict the status of the orphaned and their desperate calls for help to our society. 'Vazhve Vazhve' sung by renowned playback singer, Smt.Chinmayi is a melodious number which is a sincere appeal to everyone in our society to lend a helping hand towards the cause of these children. The music video of 'Vazhve Vazhve', has been cinematographed and directed by Mr.Anand and edited by Mr.Praveen Prabhakar.

The Album Release was done for a social cause and the main motive is to raise funds for the orphanage named Anbu karangal.
The Students involved in this project have put in their best efforts to bring out this album. R.S.Jayanth, G.Kowshik, S.Bargavi composed the songs for this album, Lead Singer Ms.Chinmayi has given the title song "vazhve vazhve" followed by 5 other beautiful songs. The Song "Un Sparisam" was sung by M.K.Balaji , Divya.V and "Ulagam" was sung by Divya.V and S.Bargavi , The chorus was done by Sunil, Abhijit, Ram, Darshana. Lyrics were written by Kowshik, Santhanam, Arul mozhi devan and Sriram. The Music Composition, Mixing and Mastering were assisted by Sathya Prasad, K.C.Sreraam. The album has started to attract people and fame, its hoping for better recognition and support from people.
